Test Vacuum Seal Integrity for Lyophilized Biologics Using Non-destructive Headspace Analysis

Learn more about the use of laser-based headspace analysis as a fast, non-destructive method to test the vacuum seal integrity of lyophilized biologics in glass vials. The method is shown to be accurate, quick and non-destructive to determine the vacuum integrity of a vial. Samples were analyzed within seconds and could detect pressure changes between 0.04 and 0.5 atm.

Despite being laser-based, the method proved safe for protein quality even after extended laser exposure. This method offers a reliable, efficient alternative for ensuring vacuum integrity without compromising product stability.
